Car runs red light, hits TRAX train

A car and TRAX train crashed Tuesday morning near 700 South and West Temple.

A black Acura ran the red light and hit a westbound Red Line train, according to Gerry Carpenter, UTA spokesman.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  No passengers on the train are reported as injured.

UTA was back in service by 8:50 a.m. and the system expected by be on schedule by 9:30 a.m., according to Carpenter.
