SALT LAKE CITY – Flushmate has recalled 2.3 million pressure-assisted flushing systems after several hundred reports of bursting systems.

The recalled product is the Flushmate III Pressure-Assist Flushing System. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a news release on Thursday that about 2.3 million units have been sold in the United States and 9,400 units have been sold in Canada.

The voluntary recall comes after Flushmate received 304 reports of the product bursting. The bursts have resulted in property damage and 14 reports of impact or laceration injuries.
