Police said a woman stole a diamond ring and swallowed it.

Angela Hardman is facing one county of retail theft after police said she swallowed a diamond ring after stealing it from the Macy’s store at South Towne Mall.

A store employee said Hardman asked to try on the ring and it got stuck on her finger. After using lotion to get if off, she handed the security tag with a different ring to another employee.

But the employee noticed the ring had fake diamonds. Hardman denied taking the ring and left before police arrived.

Police said she later swallowed the ring. Hardman faces a third degree felony.
